Strategies form an intricate part of gambling and has given rise to many a methods made famous by ardent gamblers; the way a player can play the game can make or break a winner. This is because a player always does or always doesn’t do something that heightens or lowers the chances of winning a game.

However, with BINGO, it’s more like chances – just like any other lotto. You cannot play BINGO in some particular style to affect the outcome and absolutely, no manner in which a player can predict the drawn and called number. It is a random, independent selection process; but then again, why this article?

It’s because parity gives an equal number of chances to the numbers for getting selected. Thus, according to probability, more the number of cards played by a player, more is the chance for winning. The only variable parameter for winning thus lies solely on a player’s shoulder. But the paradoxical truth also tells us that playing the maximum number of cards allowable in the game costs money. This hypes the cost of playing bingo, but not the chances for winning. Thus, when you consider the factors of the prize money and the number of players, a win in the cards may not always be a win monetarily.

This is where common sense comes in – comparing the prize money amount and the cost of the cards (per game) accurately can help one decide the actual number of cards to buy. Talking about the players, the numbers are inversely proportional to the chances for winning. Five players is thus a call to more cards, 200 is not. Now, if you think this was too simple a subject and the facts are simple, think whether you observed the relations every time you wanted to enhance your chance to win.

Multiplication tables? What a yawn. Why not make learning multiplication tables fun? Multiplication Bingo is a simple game suitable for families and classrooms. Besides turning the tedious exercise of practicing multiplication tables into a joy instead of a drag, it actually introduces children to the concepts of forethought, planning, and strategy. Here’s how to build a game and play:

1. Create one bingo card per round for each player. The cards should be five by five square tables with the center squared marked as zero. I have created a free template for the bingo cards on my website; you will find a link to it at the end of this article. If you laminate each card before playing, the cards can be reused to save paper. Players can then mark the cards using dry erase whiteboard markers during play. You can also let individuals decorate the back of the cards before laminating and add to the fun.

2. Create a copy of twenty-eight “playing numbers” on heavy cardstock and cut them into individual pieces. Again, if you laminate each piece, they will last longer. One set of numbers-0 though 13-should be marked with an “X” in the back; another set of numbers-0 through 13-should be marked with a “#” on the back. You will find a link to a free template at the end of this article as well as direction to help you create identical pieces. Once you have assembles your game pieces, play can begin.

3. Pass out the bingo cards and pens.

4. Tell the players which “X” pieces you will be using. For example, if you are working with very young children, you may just want to use 0, 1, and 2, until they get comfortable with those timetables. As players get comfortable, you add new “X” numbers until you are using the complete set each time.

5. Once you have told the players which “X” numbers you will be using, give them time to write numbers in the blank squares on their game card. Players may write any numbers they wish. Players may also reuse the same numbers as many times as they wish. For example, if you are only using 0, 1, and 2, a particularly savvy player might want to assign zero to more than one square. A particularly inexperienced player might use the number nineteen only to learn later that the answer will never come up. You can discuss these choices after the game and create wonderful teaching moments. Note: If you are not using zero at all, the center square can become an automatic free space.

6. Place all of the “call pieces” you will be using face down on a table. Note: You should be using all fourteen pieces marked “#” each time; however, you should only lay out the “X” pieces agreed upon at the start of each round.

7. The caller selects one “X” piece and one “#” piece, then calls out the problem. Any player who has written that answer on their card gets to mark off the spot. Important, if the answer is zero and a player has written more than one zero, they may only mark off one zero per problem and they may not change their minds about which zero to choose as the game progresses. Note: If you are playing in small groups, answers can be checked as you go. However, if you are playing with a large classroom, be sure to keep a record of each problem so the group can validate winning cards at the end of each round.

8. The caller returns both pieces to the table and shuffles them. A new caller selects one “X” piece and one “#” piece, then calls out the next problem. Game continues until one lucky and thoughtful play can call out bingo. Bingos happen when a player has five correct answers in a consecutive row, column, or diagonal.

9. Celebrate the winner and talk about any strategies that helped them to win. For example, I have been able to introduce the concept of prime numbers and factoring to very young children by asking them to tell me why certain answers tend to come up more than others. Tell players what “X” numbers you will be using on the next round and ask them to really think about which numbers they should include and where they should put them on their came cards.

10. Wipe off the bingo cards, write in new numbers, and play again.

Car journeys can be a bit boring. The journey can seem very long and tedious to children. Why not make up your own In Car Bingo Game to keep everyone busy and amused during the trip?

Making Up the Bingo Cards

When you know you have a long trip coming up you can help your kids to make up some bingo cards.

They are easy to make and once you’ve shown them how to make the cards they will be able to produce their own for any future trips.

Make up a list of things you might see during a journey.

Use thick paper or the inside of a cereal packet for the bingo cards. Draw a grid on the thick paper or packet card.

Write the things from the list onto the bingo cards – one item per box.

You can make this game suitable for younger children by using pictures (either draw simple shapes or cut out photos from magazines).

To Play the Game

Once you’ve started the journey you can play the game.

The first person to cross off all the items is the winner.

You only get to cross off the item if you are the first person to see it and point it out to everyone else (so there’s no cheating).

If there is a wide age difference between the children you could use different bingo objects on the cards and make the ones for the older children with some more difficult to find items.

In order to play keno and bingo well you should first abreast yourself with keno strategy and bingo strategy. They will not only help you to play better but will also maximize your returns.

Though keno is a game of luck and most people often believe that no keno strategy can be used to turn the game into a favorable outcome yet in actuality it does have some bearing on the game. The keno strategy that can be used is as follows:

Your first keno strategy is that you should pick more keno numbers in order to increase the number of keno winnings. This rule, however, applies to only those people who are not scared of gambling. If you are not the risk taking kind then you should restrict yourself to fewer numbers.

The second keno strategy is that you study the payout table in great detail. This will tell you exactly which number you should pick in order to maximize your chances of winning. Therefore these are the two things that you should keep in mind while playing keno. Though it is a game of luck yet the keno strategy do increases the chance of winning by a considerable margin.

The other game that is also fun is bingo. To be able to win this game you should also learn the bingo strategy. This too like keno is a game of chance and therefore, not too many people believe that a strategy can be placed in order to increase the chances of winning.

However, here are a few bingo strategy that when used can definitely improve your game. They are as follows:

The first bingo strategy is to play as many cards as possible, since all the cards have an equal chance of winning the more number of times you play the more likely it is that you will get the winning number. A number of cards played are the only variable factor that you can control and hence it is the only way by which you can increase your chances of winning. Though this bingo strategy looks like a simple solution yet sadly it is not so as the cards cost money and the more cards you play the more money you will have to shell out and to top it there is actually no guarantee that you will hit the right number.

The second bingo strategy is to know how many players are playing and what the size of the pot is. It is important to know the amount of the prize money so that you spend only a fraction of it on the cards, after all, there is no point in spending as much or close to the prize money as that way you will not be making any profit. The number of players also determines how much you should be spending on the cards. If there are too many people then there is a chance that the prize money when divided amongst the winners will be too small to pique your interest. It is therefore; better to play where the group is small.

Halloween is a holiday which we celebrate on October 31st of each year. It is of course associated with dressing up, trick or treating, scary stories, pumpkins, and of course halloween parties. These are of course all things that many young children enjoy, so there is a lot of fun to be had.

If you are organising a Halloween party, one activity that you might want to consider, is playing a game of Halloween ghost bingo. This is played very much like a normal game of bingo, with the main difference being that the bingo cards are printed with words or phrases relating to Halloween, rather than the numbers that are usually printed on bingo cards. Here is a summary of how to play:

1. Each player (kid) is given their own bingo card – the organiser can download printables for these from the Internet ahead of time, or print them using some bingo card maker computer software. If using software to prepare them, you could even change the heading on the card from “BINGO” to “GHOST”.

2. The organiser calls out the items printed on the cards in a random order.

3. Kids try to find the matching item on their card, and cross them off with a marker (or cover the square with a counter).

4. The first to cross out any straight line (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) of five items and call out “Boo!” is the winner.

5. For a longer game, you could have multiple winners. The kid who is first to mark off all four corners and call out “Boo!”, the kid who is first to get a line of five, the kid who is first to get two intersecting lines of five, and the kid who is first to get every item on their bingo card.

We all know the classic game of bingo right? Icebreaker bingo is a variation of the game intended to help introduce people to each other. Teachers can use the gave to facilitate introductions between students during their first class, and it can also be played at workshops, seminars or even parties.

There actually a couple of different variants of icebreaker bingo:

1. In one version of the game, the teacher (or organizer of the event) prepares a set of bingo cards printed with the names of the students. At the start of the class, each student is given one of these cards. The teacher then goes round the class asking students to stand-up one at a time, and introduce themselves including saying something about themselves (such as their favorite hobby or what they did in the Summer) and finishing with “I am pleased to meet you all, my name is…”. As in the normal game, each player’s objective is to get a line of five items ticked off their card (whether horizontal, vertical or diagonal), however in the icebreaker game, to win the player must not only be first to call “Bingo”, but must also be able to identify the people whose names are marked off in the winning line.

2. In another version of the icebreaker bingo, the bingo cards are instead printed with descriptions such as “speaks more than one language” or “has more than two siblings”. The players then circulate among themselves trying to find people who match these descriptions. When they find a match, instead of crossing off a square, they write in the person’s name – but different names must be used in each square. The first player to get a line of five items (again horizontal, vertical or diagonal are all equally acceptable), and call “Bingo” is the winner.
